Cities We Serve
Anyone who is interested in investing in the community’s thriving real estate market will likely be pleased with everything that the town has to offer. As of February 2019, the local housing market is considered to be very hot with median home values totaling $441,300. Most homes sell for around $495,000, which reflects the community’s excellent housing market. Presidential candidates traditionally stop at Robie’s Country Store in the village, now a National Historic Place. The town offers the quiet of a small country town while still ensuring access to the amenities of much larger cities. A quick drive to Manchester, only 10 miles away, will allow you to visit art museums and live theater productions. The regional airport in Manchester offers residents reasonably-priced and convenient flights. Part of Southern New England University lies in the town. This private university serves about 4,000 students on campus and an additional 87,000 students online. An Historic Town with a Bright Future
Agriculture was the main stay of the local economy during the town’s early days. With the invention of the automobile and the construction of modern highway systems, the city became an important bedroom community of the Boston metro area in the early 1960s. The city is a welcome mixture of new and old. It has two historic landmarks that are connected with Matthew Thornton, an early resident of Merrimack, who was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The first is known as the Signer’s House, which is a two-story home Thornton lived in from 1780 to 1797. The second is his burial site, which is located across from the house in the Thornton Cemetery. For the modern minded, the city offers great shopping at the Merrimack Premium Outlets, an outdoor mall that has over 100 stores and is located near I-93.

This all results in the citizens having above-average incomes, with the family median income being $107,191 annually, while the U.S. average is $70,850. Finally, the area has a healthy real estate market. Over 85% of the town’s residents own their homes, while just under 15% are renters. Nashua River Rail Trail
This is a 12.5-mile paved mixed-use rail trail that was a former railroad line and follows the Nashua River. It passes through four towns and ends about a mile away. It is used by hikers, bicyclists, skaters, cross-country skiers, horseback riders, and others.
Mine Falls Park
This 325-acre park is in the heart of the city on both sides of the Everett Turnpike. The name dates back to the 18th century when lead was mined from the island located below the falls. In the early 19th century, workers used mules and shovels to dig a three-mile-long canal for a manufacturing company to harness the river’s flow for power in its downstream mills. Subsequently, a regulation-sized soccer playing field reclaimed two sewage lagoons, and, in 1981, a footbridge over the canal provided access to the field area. The playing area now includes seven playing fields for soccer, baseball, and lacrosse. Also included are opportunities for walking, biking, boating, cross-country skiing, and fishing.

You are led into a pressurized chamber and take turns going into a wind tunnel to experience the feel of the wind and the extra-high flying. A small rock climbing wall and water activities are also available.
